The aditya hrudayam, is a hymn of praise of the Sun or Surya and was offered by the legendary Sage Agastya in honor of Lord Rama in battle prior to fighting Ravana. The eminent hymn begins with the start of the Battle with Ravana and ends when Lord Rama is exhausted and getting prepared to battle. The sacred hymn is sung in praise of God of the Sun. Sun God, the illustrious Lord of all victories.
